Dark days

-short poem for those who fail to see the light in beginning

The light within

I went to a place so dark,
No thought or word would embark,
Lost all hopes and cried a lot,
Despair and pain was all I got,
Forgot myself,  soon hatred spread;
My life, I could see, hung on a thread,
Before it snapped, I held it tight;
Knew I can’t fade without a fight.
Dried those tears, tried so hard,
Healed the soul that was once scarred;
Though in dark, I could see,
The light I sought, was within me;
Marched ahead with head held high,
To those dark days, I said goodbye.
